Macey has taught us so
much about love and perseverance in the last 6 years. Her beginnings were
tender and her road has been tough, but she continues to keep a smile on her
face. She was born 16 weeks prematurely (weighing 1 pound, 8 ounces and
measuring in at just 12 inches long). She’s faced some medical complications as
a result of her prematurity but has surprised everyone with her abilities and
her amazing personality. She has filled our home and our hearts with more
love, laughter, joy and happiness than we could have ever believed was
possible.
If Macey isn’t
sleeping, she is on the move. She has so much energy, we can hardly keep up! She
is HILARIOUS! I’ve been keeping a journal of all of the funny things that she
says and does recently. If I ever need a good laugh, I just go read that list! She
is incredibly observant and always wants to know what everyone is doing, where
they are going, what kind of car they are driving, where they live, etc. etc.
etc. She yells “HELLO” to everyone that we pass in the grocery store. She has a
very active imagination – including a plethora of imaginary friends – Meece, Dreyson,
and Grandma Planny, to name a few. She has a doll (Patti) and a stuffed dog
(Meatball) who are a constant presence in our home. She loves to be outside
and, if she had her way, we would spend every waking minute outside. She loves
to play on her slide, ride her bike and help do yard work. She loves to look at
books and play with her toys. She loves to take baths, go shopping and hang out
with her grandparents. She loves, loves, loves singing. Sometimes she
sings in silly voices, and everyone around us at church laughs as she belts out
the hymns at the top of her lungs. She is a big kindergartner this year! She
marches to the beat of her own drum and we wouldn’t trade her for anything in
the world.
